The Gift Shop at Staithes

For over 30 years Terry and Anne Lawson have operated the Gift Shop in Staithes. Gift Shop is rather a misnomer as they sell just about everything, from sweets, toys, gifts, stationery and ironmongery. Things adorn the walls and hang from the ceiling as every square millimetre is occupied with something but they seem to know where it all is. You get the feeling the Ronnie Barker and David Jason are having tea in the back room - "I want some O's!"
The incredible thing is when you only want one screw, they will happily sell you just one screw but be prepared to know if you want a steel one, a japanned one or a brass one!
Great shop and very nice people too. You can't miss it as it's just opposite the Post Office.
