Staithes and the Beck in the 1940's and 1970's

 

A photograph of Staithes taken in the 1940's by William F. Taylor from the top of Cow Bar Bank

 

Standing in the same position today you will find that not much has changed, there's a thirty year gap between the upper and lower photographs. The foot bridge and the lifeboat slip have been replaced with steel structures and the breakwater in the far distance is far more substantial.
